Title: learn yoga for your better health
Post by: niken on November 26, 2009, 05:51:41 AM
The  yoga teacher training course  (http://www.sivanandabahamas.org/) practiced today bears little resemblance to the discipline that began humbly almost 5,000 years ago, but in its rich and varied history, yoga has always evolved to meet the needs of the culture it serves. In this combination of how-to guide and inspirational text. Linda Sparrowe blends a historical overview with a wealth of exercises to help readers strengthen the mind and body. In brief, lively portraits, the author describes the 20th-century masters who helped bring yoga to the West and, indeed, the world. the centerpiece of the book contains 400 "asanas, or postures. Rendered in sumptuous black-and-white photographs that illustrate the development of modern physical postures derived from ancient Indian tradition, the asanas and the accompanying text show how the flexibility and stamina achieved on the yoga mat can transform all areas of life.

ive always wanted to do yoga but never had the chance to.  I was going to take a class at long beach state but i never did.  Is yoga good for your back?  I have a lot of back problems and wondering if it would help me out.  Please advise  :)

Doing yoga cultivates a balance between the flexibility and strength of the muscles of the body, often the real culprit in back pain. But there are many types of yoga, and if you have back pain you must be careful which to choose. Also, there are precautions you can take to ensure a safe and productive experience with yoga for back pain.

Me too. I've always wanted to try yoga but can't find the time to do so. Someday, if I can find the time I would want to do it. Is it possible to just do it myself at home? How? Once I started it, what will happen if I don't do it regularly?
